Description:

Playa de las Tejitas is just around the corner from the interntl. airport and was the last chance to catch a wave before leaving back home. Unfortunately the swell is often small and the wind is very strong. No wonder that sails and kites are predominant here.

Don't let the beauty of the place fool you. I had the worst "localism" experience of my 25 years of surfing all over the world, including Hawaii and The Ranch. There are some serious criminal low lifes who live near Mesa Lane, SB. Twenty years ago they stole my roommates classic car, in perfect condition, and joy rode it up in the mountains damaging a perfect car that was irreplacable. Or course, the police were clueless and didn't want to fingerprint the car or ask around the neighborhood if anyone saw anything. What is it about the Mesa? Do the people in breed there? I lived there. I was their neighbor and they did this to me. It is one beautiful place with some serioulsy ugly people.

Thought I missed my opportunity for a barrel when I pulled in the first time and saw the light of day only to have some back wash pitch me up into the roof. Paddled back out and the 2nd wave was everything the 1st was but with an exit. I claimed that B and I've had a smile on my face ever since.

Small in between sets, with 3-4ft sets. One 5 or 6ft set came though and cleaned up all the longboarders(one old local guy was going leashless. He had to swim all the way back in to retrieve his board after bailing to go under the set)

Fun day with friends, quite sunny. Waves were closing out at times, but still fun.

Description:

Semi-crowded, super low tide and small waves when we arrived, tide and waves came up later. Nearly flat in between sets with waist-high sets.

Biggest wave of the session was about head-high... I tried to catch it and it chucked me off the lip onto the water 5 feet below... A bit painful(bodyboard bellyflop!) but it kept going and carried me all the way to shore(from the outside).

Tried skim boarding for the first time... Epic fail. A few butt-slides and knee scrapes later, I decided that skim boarding just isn't my thing...

4 and a half hours later, sunburned, bruised, and scraped, I headed home.

Description:

First time out at Tenerife. The spot is the nearest surfable wave from our appartement, so it was obvious to check there first. What we saw was not funny: The heavy rainfall during February 2010 had loosen big rocks from the cliff and danger of landslide disposed the municipal authority to close the beach to public. Anyway, all fishers and surfers climbed around the fence and went down surfing, so I did the same.

Description:

Again, the waves were wonderful and we were only 2 in the water. I got several tubes: more than 6 or 7 ! This snadbank isreally wonderful.

Description:

The surf was bad in the am but turned out to be nice in the afternoon. Locals were friendly,but water was freezing. We left early and then talked to some surfers who said it turned out nice later. We went to gulfster.com to look at pics of what we missed. We should have stayed. Oh well its part of the adventure.

Whaou !

Again, I was alone (how is it possible ?) on this perfect sandbank with really good waves. I got plenty rides and 3 tubes with 2 good ones (it means: control before pull in, deep in and exit !
