A 2m+ solid waves for this afternoon session. 3m+ ofswell of the Biscay buoy; offshore wind and some really good and long waves. Got 3 then lost my board! Fucking leash... Hopefully, a guy tokk it on the shore. I was so far that it tokk me 15m to come back...

Picture postcard perfect! Just like the cover of 'Surfer Magazine'. Dawn broke over 'Ray Bay' on a clear warm Indian Summer morning in October. Light warm Santa Ana offshore breeze blowing out the mountain passes from the desert to the sea.
Clear clean blue green 62 F water with Dolphins and Seals chasing schools of Mullet. Picture perfect waist to chest with the occasional shoulder high sets rolling through from the North wall at 'Barracuda's' across 'Middles' to 'Crabs' by the South Jetty.
At 7AM only three of us out at Cuda's! Take off deep in the peak with a long drop out in front of the wave then power off the bottom up into the lip and smack off the top.
Amazingly it broke all the way through high tide and got more consistent and hollower, although not quite a big. By 9AM started to get crowded. Nina a little Asian girl took off in front of me on a set wave and went straight, almost made it around her but the wave gobbled me up!
Quite a change from the spooky dense fog that has plagued the dawn patrol all week. When 'lie-line' Surfline says is 3-4' and good its bad when they say its 1-2' and poor its 3-4' and good!

Description:
Headed down to the Costa Verde today hoping that I could get in after hearing the news about a foot bridge that had been damaged by a truck last night. I knew that Almendrez was closed but I was hoping that I could get to Makaha via another route. I was wrong. The whole Costa Verde area for surfing was completely closed and blocked off by numerous police. It was closed from Chachi Dibous to the north and Bajada Balta was closed in Miraflores. Also the entrance San Martin from San Isidro was closed to the south. So there is no way to get to any of the surfing today other than walking from somewhere on top of the cliffs.
I imagine that Rosa Nautica is going to be loosing a lot of business/money from this today as well. I don't know why the police had to close the entire thing to surfers. I know many people use it to pass through, but not everyone is going all the way through the Costa Verde. It would have been nice to stop and park before this bridge and then walk a shorter distance to the surfing.
Oh well, this is Lima. You can never count on anything other than the authorities doing stupid things and the truck drivers breaking the law.

Haaaaaa ! What a session !
The sandbank was nearly perfect. After the high tide, we found a god and already fun 1.20m right. Not hollow but plenty of fun.
The swell started to rise. The tide was lower. And long fast rigth broke. I got them fast and long. I could put some long turns and cut backs. It was paradise !

say: "whaou"

With Yann, Fred & Thomas; plus approx 25 other guys! It was a bit crowded :(
Very good waves, it was a long time we havn't got so great waves here. The sand bank is good. The swell was here (even with a small swell predicted by Windguru), increasing during the day. Got some really good waves today; two in memory, a very long right starting far up to the shore break; and a very good tube on a heavy wave!

Surfing was okay. Everything else was kinda cool.
Bought a 6-5-4 suit for winter, but stuck with wearing my 4 for this session with a hood-vest that I purchased.
Here's the lesson learned after trying on multiple wetsuits...never buy a wetsuit that you didn't try on beforehand. Reason why is because different companies run different sizes for different parts of the body. i have a mutant size head and neck, and nothing besides Quiksilver fit around my head.
I saw a real seal appear 10' besides me to check me out. I screamed, then it screamed;then it disappeared. then I started paddling back.

last day of Lagos 08....we all tried a big paddle out to the break. only me and pat made it out from Team Jeep 08 and he went back in eventually. i sat around and watched the good surfers like Jed and then found myself paddling into a big wave...not too sure how or why...got it, got up...looked down the wave and wiped out...wasnt really sure what to do with a new, big(ger) wave!
cool experience though and felt i truely deserved the chicken bacon and avacado afterwards!

We started the session with a lots of logistics: 5 surfers, 4 cars, rendez-vous all along the way, etc. We went to Le Gurp. But when we arrived, it was small: only one meter. Waves were beautiful but I expected more. We drove back to Le Pin Sec (and Gaby has the luck to be late and to go directly to the spot). And we got this:
Waves were solid: 1.5m , sometimes 2m. We had to make a long paddle as the beautiful rights in front of the parking were unreacheable. My friends were lazy and after 15mn of paddle, I reached the rigths. And it was the good choice. I got big long walls, alone, 100 m long with plenty of space to do tricks. Fast but not too much.

Description:
This was the first time i really stayed in the water after dark and got to see the stars shinning above while i waited for my waves. For those out there that have never been in the ocean at night i would suggest surfing in the evening as a way to experiance it.
