Been to Jaco Costa Rica?

Planning a trip to Jaco Costa Rica later this year. Want something nice (dare I say even upscale) and on the beach. I suspect daily trade off between surfing and nightlife.

Jaco is a tourist dump! Unless you are looking for hookers (or to get mugged or busted with dope, or both) stay away. Surf is junk and you will be flying into and out of San Jose, bad idea. If you are going to CR looking for world class surf, fly directly into Libera and plan from there. Search the Forum and read "All you want to know about Tamarindo". My friend and his wife had an all inclusive package at the Diria Hotel & Casino http://www.tamarindodiria.com/en/ pretty good deal. Note: re Upscale, be aware, CR is still a Third World Country
