Re:is boogie boarding surfing - 2008/01/07 19:22 surfing is stand-up
bodyboarding is bodyboarding
bodysurfing is bodysurfing

its confusing otherwise

as for cred. in the water they are all worthy. he who paddles for the wave first it is theres end of story. if they r learner and messin up gve them 1, 2 chance then on third start paddling aswell as them for their wave.

always one with your name just round the corner.

if its crowds then its bound to get messy so find somewhere else

dont drop-in

Re:is boogie boarding surfing - 2008/10/19 14:49 surf is where the waves are breaking and if you're riding one, then you are surfing, even if you're on a sponge... i've even had the displeasure of surfing all day and night on a 60' yacht but it was surfing all the same and it was fun at times...

Re:is boogie boarding surfing - 2008/10/21 23:52 don't think the argument here is really over whether bodyboarding is "surfing" or not. as a few of you said earlier "if your catching a wave, you're surfing."

that is plain, its simple, mate even dolphins do it.. fark i've even seen dogs do it. and they aren't exactly made for it are they?

the real question is a battle of the egos about how much skill it takes to stand up vs booger. and as for my rebuttal... its apples and oranges.

all you stand ups get on your tits and try an ARS.

and bodyboarders hit some aerials on your feet.

then tell me how easy "surfing" is.

Re:is boogie boarding surfing - 2008/10/22 22:44 to admit gut sliding on a sponge is a type of surfing is a no brainer. to claim it is in any way equal to the sport of kings is absurd; it simply is not.
