Re:HELP ME - 2007/03/14 16:14i doesn't matter whether the waves are small, big or there's nothing out there paddlin is probably the hardest aspect of surfin and the more you do of it the better. remember keep your hands closed and in a hollow shape, and also most of the power of the stroke is in the first 40 cm and the deeper the better. just paddlin around, even in a pool will develop ur strenght, keep at it and it will come!
good luck from Jenko!

Re:HELP ME - 2007/04/25 12:02Hello Kylie, surfing is awesome, llok for a special spot for begginers, there are some everywhere I suppose, with not much currents and small waves. That is what you need to find first. Then grab a board and go into the water, have a lot of fun, thats the important part, practice makes masters! Good waves and if you come to Peru give me a call to go surf! Enrique

Re:HELP ME - 2007/04/30 18:05Several advises: 1- don`t stop at the begging. Surf is hard (and the BEST sport ever). It is like gimnastic, for being cool in the water you must surf all hte time that you can. 2- You live in Italy, so the waves use to be little and for a short period of time. You must know very very well where to go and when. So you must know your nearest coast. You must know very well your local spots. Also you must understand your sea, so you must understand when and how the waves are created, which winds are correct... look in https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/PUBLIC/WW3/index.html Choose mediterranean sea and look for the several options, you must understand it by looking day by day on it. It´s a bit hard but it is easy. Think that wind creates wind waves (not too good) and that wind waves get bigger time by time untill they are big enough to travel long distances, that creates the swell waves (the best waves). You must look for wind waves first, cause mediterranean has no space for creating swell waves big enough. If you need more information look for local surfers, they will be in the best spots. Good luck
