The least surfed spot - 2007/04/10 22:28hi, I think you could create a new topic : the least surfed spots, cause so many places are crowd that it could be interesting to classify spots that are surfed by only few local peoples. I suppose it could contribute to honor these islandic, ghanean, canadian or romanian spots and their local surfers who have often hard surf conditions. And also, I'm more interesting in surfing scottish waves than Lacanau or mundaka.I think that some guies are still looking for forsaken places with a "different" adventure, far away from surf fashion, photographs and localism. Think about them Cya

Re:The least surfed spot - 2007/04/11 17:06I think that sould be more interesting a map (or several maps) of the spots in the world (like it is now in the Surf Atlas) and it could signal in colours the crowd level in the zone by using the data of people who said has surfed the spots of that zone. It would be a correct estadistic and would show all of us where we mustn´t hope few people in the water. I think it could contribute to relax the ambient in determinated spots like Mundaka, Lacanau, Bali. I know people who doesnt go to Hawai cause its always crowded, and they prefer to go to other places with similar caracteristics. And I also know people (usually with little experience) who goes to Bali hoping to find few or not too much people in the water.

Re:The least surfed spot - 2007/04/12 17:08Yeah, Paulov... very cool idea - mapping the breaks 'most' surfed. I'm the same, I'd rather surfer a 2* break with fewer crowds than fight it out on a 4* or 5* break.... And you'll often find the worst localism at breaks like J-Bay and Mundaka, simply because they get soo much attention.

I also certainly do prefer "soul surfing" spots ;
other side of the medal : when those nice , calm spots become known.....they may turn less calm ... baai
