Re:accomodation san sebastian / biarritz - 2008/08/19 04:13 Well, not easy! Peniche offers one big difference to the Bay of Biscay: Due to its peninsula landscape it catches every swell.
So You'll find waves at a 10kms circle every day unless it's totally flat. But why do You make such great efforts to find out what's better?
I think, You get more than one chance to travel the Atlantic shores, so go to Biscay first and next time add that flabby 1100kms to Peniche. It's all worth a trip.

PS: The way fm Bayonne/San Sebastian to Peniche is fast, almost freeways with only a view parts to pay for. If You like to check: Bayonne - San Sebastian - Vitoria/Gasteiz(don't go over Bilbao=cost much $$$) - Burgos - Valladolid - Salamanca - CasteloBranco(don't go over Coimbra=$$$) - Obidos - Peniche. With two drivers to change You can easy make it in 12 hours drive time without breaks.

Re:accomodation san sebastian / biarritz - 2008/08/19 05:34 hey ecem...i`ve been several times to south france and...hated it...it`s an overcrowded, expensive, everybody is the best looking and carrying board up and down the beach area!!!nightlife is good. then we went to north of spain...started at zarauz near san sebastian and checked the coast westwards...really good, non crowded waves with friendly locals, best partys ever, cheap campgrounds (e.g. 36euros at mimizan, average place, 21euros at zarauz, really good place), avoid places like mundaka, leave them to the locals!! if i go to this area again i would definately go to north of spain!! but nevertheless where you go...have fun!!!chriz

Re:accomodation san sebastian / biarritz - 2008/08/29 17:40 Hi!

One more question concerning spots between san sebastian and hossegor...

Are there any chances and spots for windsurfing?
As I wrote before i practice WS for some years and prefer wave riding, if there is any possibility to find a spot with ocean wave and strong wind, then I will take WS equipment too!

Of course I don`t want to disturb in surfing, so please tell me if there are wave spots for windsurfing?

regards!
