Where to Go - 2008/03/08 10:23 I've read up as much info as I can on the bv's & get the impression there is no surf in May June. Is this right ? or can it a bit more consistant that it seems ?
The script is I''m off on my honeymoon at that time & my lovelly lady has given me the thumbs up to take a board as long as I don't take any stupid risks. Alls she wants is great weather and a bit of quality time on the beach and exploring wherever we end up. We've possibly narrowed it down to Lombok, Mauritus, Seychelles, Tahiti or the Britsih Virgin Islands. I'm guessing Tahiti & Lombok might require boat trips and be a bit heavy at that time.
So in a nut shell I'm looking for some nice head high mellowish rights with great weather and not having to get a boat trip to the breaks. Not alot to ask really Done Sri Lanka, Mexico, The Canaries, Morrocco, the states, Barbados. Come people throw me some sensible suggestions ?

Re:Where to Go - 2008/03/09 02:50 Central America, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama etc..., you may get one rain stotm daily but tons to do and you will for sure get some surf at that time of year!

Re:Where to Go - 2008/03/25 19:52 Tahiti is good: you have good beachbreaks on the north coast and you can still surf reef breaks on the west coast. Most of them are lefts.

France is a good place during the spring too.

Re:Where to Go - 2008/03/26 05:25 Honeymoon? Hawaii!

S+SW coasts have peak surfseason from may to june, so why not island hopping with Your better half? Much things to do besides sufring. Catch a wave at Ala Moana and snorkel at Waimea Bay.
Rip Kona Village and glimb up to Big Island's Mauna Loa and/or Mauna Kea. Hang ten at Nawiliwili Bay and explore the canyon on Kauai. Look for waves at Hana Bay and feel the aloha spirit on Maui.
Your dearest will be overwhelmed - any further questions?

Re:Where to Go - 2008/04/02 18:38 Hey Paul,

I would recommend Bali, I'm off there in June and I'm sure it will be great. Lots of lefts but you can't have everything. I'm going to Bali because there's loads to do on top of surfing and I have a demanding wife who insists upon being entertained. No boat trip required in Bali and if you go before summer holidays it will avoid all the crowds. Add to the fact its cheap, lots to see lots to buy and luxury aplenty if thats your thing. Add this to the fact that its one of friendliest country in the world you can't go wrong.

If you want to stay in Europe then I would suggest Portugal, great place and great people, but the surf can be hit or miss in summer. Funny old thing I'm off there in May.

Best of luck have a great honeymoon,
Surfguy
