Re:Some infos about Vietnam ? - 2007/12/11 01:19 Hello,

Look for summer typhoons crossing the South China Sea !
From North to South there are three main zones, the best being around Da Nang... but don't expect any surf facility, board rental or whatever.

Indeed, you are not far from Thailand, Indo or even Singapore or Hong Kong : places to buy a board, if you don't bring yours.

Re:Some infos about Vietnam ? - 2007/12/15 18:45 Thanks Yannick ! I think I will travel only with my fins in first time and do bodysurfing. Do you know if it's lowcost to travel from vietnam to thailand, China and neighbouring countries ?

Re:Some infos about Vietnam ? - 2007/12/20 06:08 Bodysurfing will bring you respect and curious looks.
Regarding the air trips, it's just like anywhere : the further the more expensive. Send me an e-mail for more details :

Cheers,
Yannick.

Re:Some infos about Vietnam ? - 2007/12/26 05:32 Hello, I just returned from another trip in Nam but did not score waves this time. Scuba was excellant. Which area are you working? Vung Tau, not far from Ho Chi Minh can get good beach breaks and if you take a moto past Christ on the Hill, you will find a nice peeling left point break. Watch the rocks there. Make sure you say Vung Tau beach, or the taxi will tour you through Vung Tau province.

A short plane trip up to Da Nang and you can find a good beach breaks. I really enjoyed Na Nguc. Simply ask for a moto lift to the Marble Mountains and the Na Nguc break is down the street. Breaks real good, lines up on a good swell. Watch for rocks and avoid the sewage pipe hidden under water. Your only competition will be your mind. I was the only surfer at Da Nang, Nga Nguc and Vung Tau, so expect curious onlookers and Vietnamese wanting to learn.

Make sure you have you own equipment. Da Nang Surf club is sorta non-existant after the Step Into Liquid flick passed
through.

Northeasterns coming down the coast will push the swell around corners lining them up off certain points as well as the Typhonns which obviously bring good waves to almost every coastline.
