Hey, folks, your help is very much needed...

Do you happen to know anything about surf on Maldives?

I just need some useful tips that are not described in the wannsurf atlas...

But the biggest question is: Are there any places to buy/rent a surfboard or it's better to come with your own board?

The problem is that a friend of mine(he is from the US, but currently travelling) is travelling now without his boards and he's a bit confused if he need to urgently buy a new one while he is in europe or he'll be able to buy/rent a bord right there on Maldives.

Will be very grateful for your soonest responses.

I actually brought three boards and sold two to guys who had broken there boards.

Sad to hear that there are no boards for sale/rent on Maldives...But, anyways, good to know beforehand that my friend needs to urgently buy a new board or travel back home to pick up hes boards )))...

I went there in 2001 and there was absolutely nothing either for sale, rent, borrow, steal in the way of equipment. I had to give another guy sunscreen and wax it was that scarce.

However, I have recent seen a photo of Lohifushi resort now called hudhuran I believe and there was a rack of boards... can't remember where I saw the picture, maybe a travel advertisement. My advice take all your own stuff. If you go have a great time the surf there is amazing!
