marocco july/august - 2007/03/24 05:18 Hi!

Im going to be marocco in july/august and would like to get some info about following.

Which part of country offers the best surf in that time of the year?

Do I need to bring a my own board or is it easier just to rent or buy something over there?

Do I need to bring my wet suit?

enjoy

Re:marocco july/august - 2007/03/26 14:48 I am sorry about telling you that in summer there are very few waves in north atlantic area, so dont expect great surf (unless you are reallly lucky). The wind will be allways from the same direction (NE) during the summer and you can hope little bad wind waves, not perfect swell. But who knows? You must try it if you are going to go there!

Re:marocco july/august - 2007/04/11 11:43 In the summer, it's usually flat in the north atlantic sea, so i advice you to head towards the south of morocco and visit spots nearby agadir offering world class waves(check the map at wannasurf).
Bring your stuffs with you if you can afford it, otherwise, you can rent or buy surfboards, wetsuits etc... from different surfshops found mainly in Kenitra,Casablanca,Agadir...

Re:marocco july/august - 2007/04/11 23:46 Hi, VortexBoy and thanks for info.

I also wonder if there are good places for beginners to surf around Agadir, because we are going to be four people traveling and one of us has never surfed before.

How much does it cost to rent a board and wetsuit and how is it to travel with the boards in Morocco? Our plane is landing in Casablanca so we have to take train or bus down to Agadir.

Re:marocco july/august - 2007/04/17 03:37 Don't know about trains in Maroc i believe there's a direct connection from casa towards Rabat. But anyway there are plenty of buses to catch (CTM). Really cheap by the way, just ask the guys to put your board on the roof, if you need to be in a specific place you can also catch the grand taxi, since u're with 4 this will also still be pretty cheap. Tip, always ask for the price before u get in, prices are fixed and are on display if asked.Me and my wife have been travelling trough morocco this way hauling a 9.6 longboard. Lots of fun, good surf, don't know if summer is ideal, but as a beginner u dont wanna be confronted with huge surf anyway.
Just a note casablanca-Agadir is one serious trip, how long are u guys planning on staying in Maroc.

have fun Kris

Re:marocco july/august - 2007/04/17 07:21 Morocco is known for it's cheap accommodations, don't worry about prices
You can take a bus which travels from casablanca directly to agadir, i advise you CTM or Supratours buses for this kind of long trips, because it's simply the best buses companies there, and they offer pretty good rides, or you take a train to marrakech then buy a ticket from there to get into the bus going to agadir, it's faster. ticket prices are around 15-20 dollars
