Travel tips - 2006/12/22 16:57Im looking to start planning my first overseas surf trip for sometime next year and have no real idea of where to go. I am an intermediate surfer, so not looking for big surf, just consistancy. I will be travelling solo so i was thinking of finding a couple of surf camps where i can meet up with other travellers. Any ideas would be a great help.

Re:Travel tips - 2006/12/22 17:19Just go to Bali! It's a wonderfull place with wonderfull people. You will find all kind of wave difficulty. Also several good camp there, like "balicamp" (have a look on google). If you're traveling solo it could be a solution.

Re:Travel tips - 2006/12/24 23:57in europe you should just stay at campsites(only summer!!) cause its cheap and you meet the most people. the surfcamps are most off the time on the same campsite and are way more expensive. public transport in france is alright but in spain you can get problems with boards in trains. if you wanna check out marocco its mabay easyer to fly from malaga or sevilla straight to agadir than overland.

Re:Travel tips - 2006/12/25 19:38Europe is ok during spring and autumn. It's crowdy during the summer and you can have period of flat swell. Try May-June or after the 15 August until the middle of October. If you want some night life, then come during the summer (July and August)
You may go to Costa Rica which is an easy country to travel and find fun surf.

Re:Travel tips - 2008/06/15 04:17thats not really true. europe has warm parts all around the year: just travel to the canary islands. on fuerteventura for example you´ll find plenty of high quality spots, many surfers, travellers, some camps and good surf schools where even advanced surfers can still learn a lot. have fun wherever you get.
