I'm a buggy board beginner. I'd like to ask about surf conditions in Hossegor. Is it good for a beginner? How about the other spots along this coastline from France to Spain? And I'm still struggling whether to take my board with me or not coz this is not a surf trip indeed. I'll travel in Europe to several countries. Anyone knows how much it costs to hire a board?
And for place to stay, where will surfers usually stay in? I'm on budget, so hotels or fancy hostels are really not my preference.
Any information about surf in France and Spain will be appreciated!
Thanks.

Re:surf in France - 2009/06/19 14:50Hy,
I just can say that you can go camping along the coast and there are lots of campsites. For example I stayed in wavexperience surf camp (you can rent bodyboard there or take lessons), which was located in Vieux-Boucau in campsite called “Les Sablères***”, just few meters from the ocean, nice place Guess if you look for cheaper version, choose campsites, good luck

Re:surf in France - 2009/06/20 05:01Board hire is always expensive, notably during high season. If arrangable, bring Your own stuff. All the coast fm Bordeaux to Hossegor is streight linear sandy beach with good conditions for beginners during summertime. It changes when crossing the Adour river at Anglet down south with reef breaks and protected bays, can get flat or worldclass but is almost overcrowded from bloody tourist in July+August. Hossegor is good for party and cashflow an also crowded. Better go to Vieux Boucou -St.Girons area. Many good camp grounds and long beaches. Walk a bit and You can start up away fm crowds. Have fun+catch a wave!
