Re:suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/02/11 10:17 San Diego in July is good for a beginner, plenty of variety in waves, Mexico is close-just over the border, many places to surf with others or alone. With a little research or a willingness to camp and you will have an inexpensive surf trip W/O hassles!

And just looked for Mexico, as understood very nice waves, but july is the rain stormy month

Rooms are pricey but camping is cheap, if you camp in Mexico, sleep with your gear. Best to go to Mex with friends so someone stays with the gear while the others surf, take turns watching gear.

I suppose with some research you could find decent accomodations for $50-60/night.

You would want a rental car so you could get to all the diffrerent places. San Diego has every type wave you could want!

Reef, beach, point San Diego has it all!

Night life is awesome.

If you can't rent a car, public transportation is cheap and goes just about everywhere.
