Re:Peniche in July - 2009/06/01 03:07I was there laast july, fun waves, 'relatively' warm water (still need a shorty or 3/2 spring suit) and if you look around very uncrowded surf. the main beach at baleal gets quite crowded on the peak, but again, either early morning or taking a short walk and you'll find good peaks with hardly anyone out. My best session was out front of Brunos one morning (not even very early) but it was a bit of a grey day - and I had long peeling lines all to myself for nearly two hours...

Re:Peniche in July - 2009/06/01 18:28Been there several times end of June to mid July. Prevailing surf is small but can get tough when summer cyclones pass South Ireland. Anyway, P is always worth a trip - have fun!

Re:Peniche in July - 2009/06/10 01:39Portugal is pretty small in summer, although it can get quite good. Peniche is great, loads of fun waves to be had, best thing to do is drive to the north of the town, and then follow every dirt road down to the coast you can find, we found several really good spots like that, no idea what any of them are called. Different spots work on different tides, so if its flat in the morning, it could be 3 foot in the afternoon, just explore and check it out. Respect the locals, and be freindly and they will be really freindly back, we had no problems at all.Papan
