uni close to surf in Brazil - 2009/02/01 07:28 hi guys,

I am going to study for a bit in brazil. of course after classes i wanna grab a board and surf. I have a possibility to choose any from this places. thanks a lot for any advise/tip

Re:uni close to surf in Brazil - 2009/05/25 23:46 As far as wave quantity and quality don't think twice and go for Florianópolis. Now if your idea is warm water I would say Vitória, Maceió, Recife, and Salvador are the best spots.

In Vitória you are one hour south of one of the best spots in Brazil (Regência). You also have Setiba, and Ulé about half an hour away.

Maceió has the classic break 'Praia do Francês'.

Salvador has some secrets, which I wouldn't be able to tell you, but distances are one of the main problems there when looking for surf.

Recife is awesome, with Maracaípe about an hour south. The problem here are 'tiger sharks'.

Go for Florianópolis.
