suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/01/28 21:34 Hy everybody
I'm planning my month vacations in july and read other later topics in forum and got absolutelly confused
My budget is very limited, so I'm looking for cheap place to live for that month, find surfcamp or take surf lessons, cause I surfed just few weeks in surfcamp before. Planning to fly from London.
Thought about Portugal but for one month I guess it would be expensive, I heard in Bali it's cheap living, but for beginner I guess it's not good place? Then mabye California or Panama and etc. just confused???))
So your any good advises from personal experience in making my desigion would be so great
Thanks in advance

Re:suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/01/28 22:20 Bali is cheap indeed if you find cheap flight from London ) And it's a perfect place for begginer as well as for an experienced surfer. This is smth I love about Bali, you can find waves for any level surfer.

There are heaps of great destinations around the world for your month-holidays, central/south america are great, but if you are looking for a very cheap place, then I can suggest only Bali.

gd luck )

Re:suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/01/31 00:02 If you search for flights in the Inet, eventually you'll find cheap options ) try thai / qatar or emirate airlines. Singapore and other asian airlines also fly to bali from all over the world. Maybe BA has some cheap fares as well, check them out.

Anyway, go to Kuta (airport is in Denpasar), all the best waves in bali are not longer than 20 mins away from it. If you are beginner you should defiitely start from Kuta beach which will be 5 mintues walking from your hotel in Kuta. After you feel a bit more comfi, you should go to the nearest reef spot like Sanur, Canggu or kuta reef, airports...(depends on the season when you come).

If you come earlier than july we can catch up there I'm going there in feb and will stay until june.

cheers

Re:suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/01/31 20:23 Why fly around half the globe when looking for waves in July? Europe is full of places with good infrastructure for beginners this time of year. You'll find save beaches and surfcamps from Portugal along North Spain to France. If You calculate the cost for a flight from London to Bali it will equalize the higher acommodation prices.

Re:suggest where to go in july for beginner - 2009/02/01 00:08 absolutely agree w/herwig re cost of travelling to bali, but if you are looking for something absolutely different from europe in terms of culture, climate, people, waves, then I would better spend some money on the airplane ticket and go to that new place...It's not only accomodation that is cheap in bali asia (not only bali), but everything else like meal, drinks, transport and clothes...I just love bali and if I had to choose between bali and europe...well you know what would be my answer...))

anyway wish you great holidays and have fun surfing ))

cheers
