Re:Surfcamp Bali - 2008/11/29 00:31There are many surf camps in bali, but for the most part, bali is not a good place for surfers who are on the low end of experience. All the surfcampe mentioned are expensive, and really dont do much. I personally feel that they take advantage of the vactioning newbie. I see them out ther even when it is not safe for inexperienced surfers to be in the water. The instructors dont really knoe anything about life saving or teaching surfing for that matter. They will be youngrer than you and will have had no real instruction themselves in how to teach surfing past the very basic approch they use. The only surf instructor I know in Bali is a Kiwi Chap names Marcy. Hes busy most of the time, so even getting a lesson with him can be difficult, but he is reasonable, and he really teaches.
Be aware- Bali is full of rip off deals. The guy at the Rip Curl school is making a Fortune, as are most of the surf schools in Bali.
