Re:lower back pain - 2008/10/26 02:45YOGA! Go to some classes that do a wide range of different Yoga styles. All Yoga stretches a wide range of muscle groups but also strengthens as well. There are DVD's targeted at specific Yoga routines for surfing, just look up Yoga for Surfers.

Re:lower back pain - 2008/10/26 16:01an old mate of mine stopped surfing and started choking down tons of grass because he reckoned it was good for his bad back but i reckon his grass induced sloth just made his back worse.

Re:lower back pain - 2008/10/27 14:08A while back during the winter season the tradewinds stopped blowing and the surf glassed off for 3 weeks. It was epic, and after 3 weeks of North Shore poundings my back was shot, so was the rest of me as well. I had a surf overdose and I just went into total muscle freeze. So my friends (also suffering the same fate) turned me on to some Kava Root. They told me how to prepare it and I drank a full bowl of it. It was the nastiest muddy dishwater shit I ever tasted. It was pretty bad, but within an hour I melted into the couch and somehow made it to my bed, and passed out like a rock. The next day I felt like a new man, it seems that Kava is also a muscle relaxer and boy every muscle in my body felt loose and refreshed, no knots, no kinked neck, no sore arms and shoulders, no tension in my back, it loosened up every muscle. It was friggin unreal - it just tastes real bad, I mean really bad. After that I bought some Kava in the capsule form from GNC (I thought I could get around drinking it) but it was way weaker and I had to take a bunch of them to get the same effect. Kava is the shit but it tastes like shit too, but man that was the best thing I ever used to de-freeze my back. Just gotta get the good Kava, no weak ass capsule form.
