British Airways BAN on SURFBOARDS !!! - 2007/11/22 17:05Hey guys!
Since Nov. 6, British Airways has decided to simply ban the carriage of surfboards on all their flights!!!
We need to fight this decision right away or more airlines may follow their lead and it will get harder and more expensive for surfers to travel by air.
There's already a petition campaign running on the internet. I encourage you to sign it and spread the word among all your surfing mates and people you usually travel with. You just need to go to the page below and fill up the form: http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-the-ba-surfboard-ban/sign.html
To help spread the word and support the petition, don't hesitate to post this message on other surf forums or ask webmasters of surf websites to feature a message on their homepages and in their newsletters. Offline efforts like posting a message in your local surfshop can also help.
Last but not least, B.A. being part of oneworld - a group of about 10 airlines operating flights together, what will happen if you book on Cathay Pacific and you have a connecting flight operated by BA? Will they leave your boards midway? This ban has potential consequences for surfers flying intercontinental routes on any of these airlines!
