as a german cititzen I am sorry to say that Eisbach locals are far the worst a visitor may face. As Germany has only a view real spots and german surfers use mostly foreign waves, its a shame how munich locals act. After all, not every Eisbachsurfer is that kind, so friendly ones pay the price alone.

I have started surfing the Eisbach myself just this summer as I moved to Munich.

I have NOT experienced any strong localism there, despite the rep.

Truth is, officially Eisbach surfing is forbidden and thats what the sign says. But it has been tolerated for years.

Now every now and then drunken fools try to surf this wave who stand on the board first time. Thats dangerous because of the big rocks right under the whitewash.
As we dont want any accidents from beginners/fools etc. people who cannot surf this wave are sent away.

In the last 6 weeks I have seen a Canadian riversurfer and a Aussi tourist surfing there - being lend boards, as they had the level to surf this wave.

So stop talking about things you have nop clue about. And let your bad karma take away your wave then ...

You should consider, that other people might have made bad experiences in the past. However, good luck by saving the spot!
