Los Angeles Beachbreaks, good at low/medium tide? - 2007/07/03 03:59 Hey guys, Can anyone recommend a mellow beach break in Los Angeles that works well at a low or medium tide? I ride a longboard and I’m in Pasadena, Cali, so the traffic after work sucks ass. I’m looking for something easy to get to in the afternoon, I was thinking Zuma or Malibu, but I’ve never gone there during the week. Not really eager to get stuck in gridlock for two hours either. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re:Los Angeles Beachbreaks, good at low/medium tide? - 2007/07/03 04:54 El Porto is probably a quicker drive for you. works on low to medium. Zuma is better on a med to high tide, but is often blown out by 11:00 AM.

Re:Los Angeles Beachbreaks, good at low/medium tide? - 2007/07/03 05:20 I would recommend sunset; there are really mellow waves there but the only problem is that parking sucks.

Re:Los Angeles Beachbreaks, good at low/medium tide? - 2007/07/03 05:56 I hear that. The parking sux ass. Coming back from a session once, in Malibu, the car was GONE...Horrible, learned our lesson tho. Its a fuckin racket with the tow company and the law enforcement, no wonder malibu is such a rich town...
