Re:Looking for good spots in NY & NJ ?? - 2007/06/07 21:13I figured a Longboard to start out and get the feeling of it. Thanks! Any suggestions on brand? Size?

Re:Looking for good spots in NY & NJ ?? - 2007/06/08 01:40Definitely go with a long board 9'0 long. the brand doesn't matter at this point, and that's why I'm really saying if you have a Costco, go and pick up a board there. I would only recommend that board for a beginner because it is cheap and performs well for a beginner. If not that board, get one of the softtop longboards, they work great.
Once you are proficient, than step up to your local surf shop and get a more expensive local shape that will work for the break you want to surf.

The G&S surfboard is built from new and innovative designs for the beginner as well as the expert. Soft yet durable construction allows exceptional performance in all types of surf conditions.

Well, my only concern is... I am not a small guy, is this board ok for me? Thanks again for all your help!
