Re:I wanna teach my girlfriend to surf - 2007/05/01 18:41OK, I would look for a place with bottom of sand, few people (and with low-medium level), with no localism (only you can teach there if you are a local) and soft waves, with an easy enter in the water and no currents. Thats the correct place to began surfing. And of course near of your home, you sould be able of going there as times as you can.

Re:I wanna teach my girlfriend to surf - 2007/05/17 09:21exactly what paulov said but make sure she can paddle properly. its no use goin out there n findn out she cant paddle fast enough or she not strong enough. if shes not tell her 2 practice her paddlin round a beach with barely ne waves. and whateva u do dont mollycoddle her if its somethin learners hate its mollycoddling!

Re:I wanna teach my girlfriend to surf - 2007/05/26 00:22If she is comfortable in waves, you can try directly the surf. If not, the best is too swin in waves before (not too far) to kow how to move in waves.
After she can try a bodyboard because it's easy to start to have a good timing with the waves. If you want to start directly with the surf, take a big board, go on small waves day (less than 1meter) and when she layed on the board, push her toward the beach in a wave: she will have directly the sensation of surf. She can even start to stand up.
After this, if she likes it, it's time to start to learn to paddle and cath waves. It's the most difficult thing !
