Aerography on surfboards - 2007/05/07 23:05Hiya...
I've got two qestions...
1) How do you feel about aerography on your boards...Do you think it's cool to have your board "tattooed"
Well, I personally, like tattoes on human body...and I've got one of course...And I like aerography on my snowboard and on my wakeboard....But, dunnow...can't imagine my surboard to be painted like this...
I know it depends...but I'm just currious..and want to know if aerographers are in demand...
2) ...and my second question is related to the first one...My friend is a reeeeaaaally gooood aerographer...her portfolio is just awesome...She's seeking for a job at the moment..And, I just thought, maybe smb knows any places where she can try herself?...Maybe, there are some shapers among you or you know somebody who needs an aerographer?
Would be grateful for your opinions
Cheers

Re:Aerography on surfboards - 2007/05/09 04:48Excuse me, hasn't your friend got an ""online"" portfolio?
Maybe you only forgot the link
This way your friend should have more chances...
To be honest at the moment I'm really feed up with logos, writtens and graphics.. but I like tatoos anyway
I would like the most relaxed/simple graphics or at least a beautiful pin-line.. this just my opinion, the opionion of a begginer surfer who is bored by those surf magazines full filled with stupid commercials and who wouldn'like a board like that (but maybe I'm only talking about stickers )
Aloha

Re:Aerography on surfboards - 2007/05/09 07:06Agreed, simple designs are best IMHO. Nice color with pin lines works best for me.

Re:Aerography on surfboards - 2007/05/09 10:28I spray painted my old boards with a couple of friendsusing non toxic spray paint. It's cheaper and easier but if you forget to take the wax off it's a real bummer. One friend forgot to take the wax off and as a prank we took all of the wax off. The board (except for the nose) was all white.

Re:Aerography on surfboards - 2007/05/12 07:29Some boards look good all painted up. Longboards especially. i don't think shortboards work as good. there is just something about a longboard that makes it look good when its painted. that is my opinion though. most people just want a pin strip or solid color. I just got into shaping surfboards myself about a year ago. if you want to send me some pics of her stuff. i would like to check it out. lates
