Re:HELP ME - 2007/03/14 15:39hi i'm i surfer from down south of australia and i;ve been surfin most of my life. most people think surfin is a cinch but let me tell ya its not at all easy startin off but still have a crack at it. what i recommend is you buy a second hand board (it doesn't really matter) and make sure its not 2 small or not 2 big about 6'2' through to bout a 6'5' and in good condition. then find a local surf spot that isn't to big and try and surf it. position urself towards the front of the board but not 2 far forward and find out whether your a right foot in front (goofy) or left foot in front (regular). then when u go to catch a wave paddle hard, angle your board to suit the wave direction (right or left) push down and pull forwards on the rails. it don't matter if u fall off first time just go back and do it again. hope this helps from Jenko!
