Surf specific workouts - 2007/02/27 05:23 I don't surf as much as I would like to and this past winter was the first time I had surfed (in a year) with a full wetsuit, gloves, etc... I was out of surfing shape after only an hour or so. I need some surf specific training exercises, ideas, and habits so that I can surf as long as there is a wave rolling when I do get to the ocean...

Re:Surf specific workouts - 2007/03/07 17:24 If you can't surf the - swim, swim and swim some more... its aerobic and gets the shoulders strong. Also weight training the upperbody helps with the take-off and duck-diving. Lastly, google 'Interval Traning' - its the best way to build the strength and endurance needed for long sessions.

Re:Surf specific workouts - 2013/04/01 21:52 what about for your shoulders? sometimes my shoulder will hurt when i'm paddling like i over extended... just feels weird. and also sometimes there is a small crack or pop like when you crack your knuckles. doesn't hurt just pops.
