Vacation Ideas - help needed - 2007/01/07 23:21Ok, here are the limitations - February 07 - travel with wife (doesn't surf) - must be comfortable - kids (pre-school), some kind of child-care required - warmish water and chance of waves - not too far from Europe (direct flights...) - board rental would be a plus... - oh, and of course, not too expensuve
any suggestions?

In february, in Portugal is the Surf Season, and you can grab the best waves in Europe is cheap and beatifull...you will love it

SOME OTHER POSSIBLITIES INCLUDE: 1. BARBADOS - IT IS HOWEVER NOT CHEAP UNLESS YOU STAY IN A TIN SHACK. 2. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - I'VE NOT BEEN BUT A CLOSE FRIEND RAVES ABOUT IT. HE STAYED ALL INCLUSIVE = CHEAP, WARM WATER, SURF AND CHILD FRIENDLY (TOOK HIS KIDS). HE SAID THE MAIN AREAS ARE AROUND CABERETE, LOTS OF BIG HOTELS. 3. BALI - APPARENTLY EAST COAST CAN GET GOOD BUT IT IS RAINY SEASON. 4. SOUTH AFRICA - CAPE TOWN AREA, MAIN DRAWBACK IS THE NUMEROUS HUNGRY LARGE SHARKS.

All pretty far from you, I'm afraid.
Too bad the Maldives don't really get much during the southern hemi summer.
