Finding a new place to work and surf? - 2012/11/04 18:28 I am considering moving to a new place to work that has better surroundings for surfing.

I am currently working as a software developer in Europe/Denmark but was thinking that with my background it should be possible to work practically around the whole globe.

Does anyone in here have any experience with relocating based on a wish to do some more surfing?

In Europe some of the obvious locations would be France, Portugal. But Indonesia, Australia and US could also be an option.

Let me know if anyone has some suggestions or are thinking some of the same thoughts.

Re:Finding a new place to work and surf? - 2012/11/05 00:45 Disney has a history of hiring European software people, as they can pay them less! Go online and send your resume. You would receive a generous allowance for living expenses, however you would need to purchase a vehicle to get to and from work, as there is little public transport. Expect to spend $5,000 USD for a decent, reliable, used car such as an older Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. You would be living in Orange County, so you can surf SurfCity USA with us, or Hollywood/Van Nuys in which case you can surf "The Boo" (Malibu. Now is the best time for surf, December has the big South Swells. Weather is still warm and sunny 85F in SOCAL today. Water temp is still good at 64F however January & February see it drop as low as 48F in some areas. If you ski, first snowfall is this month in the higher elevations of the local Sierra Nevada mountains. Its exactly 66 miles from the ocean at Seal Beach to 6,500 feet on Mt Baldy which has limited beginner runs, but lots of expert and extreme
runs. You can surf the morning and ski the afternoon, made a short iphone video a couple of years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GTRPMFC_BU&feature=fvsr
PS Lots of girls LOL

Re:Finding a new place to work and surf? - 2012/11/07 00:22 If you looking for tropical climate whole year then Indonesia will be great. Living expenses quite cheap and surfing in every part of the country will easier. Or for more economically, you can make a simple surfcamp near your favorite spot, so free surfing anytime you want while earning money. Just an idea anyway
