I'm gonna rent a car in LA and also a longboard as I'm a beginner. Do you think a Chevy Aveo or similar is enough big to get the board in to the car?? I'm travelling alone and I just have one suitcase with me.

Re:Longboard in car - 2012/05/01 02:54Dude the SUB compact, Chevrolet Aveo, is a rebadged Korean Daihatsu Daewoo, piece of shit! You need to step up to small SUV rental like a Toyota Rav4 with roof racks, if you try to put a longboard inside, the CHP (California Highway Patrol) will give you a nasy ticket! LOL

Re:Longboard in car - 2012/05/02 01:07This is the USA not Europe! The CHP is a MAJOR State revenue source. You must have 360 degrees of unobsured vision and no objects protruding from the vehicle. If you got a Nazi officer who hates surfers he could give you a reckless driving ticket, that's at least $500. Besides an Aveo on the Freeway will get run over, its a commuter piece of shit. As for price, I thought the US was one of the cheapest places to rent a car. I rented a Jeep Commander V8 last winter for $39 a day? Try Costa Rica, I paid $50 a day for a Hyundai Tucson 4X4 plus $25 a day insurance!

Re:Longboard in car - 2012/05/02 01:41Okay thanks, I got it. I can't compare the price with other countries because I only rented in the US before. But of course a bigger car is cheaper than a smaller but it's not worth when it's shit afterwards... Guess I will rent a Dodge Caravan or so. I want to put it inside that nobody can steal it ...

Re:Longboard in car - 2012/05/02 05:32Yep the new 2012 Dodge Caravan is a great choice, its powered by the 3.6 liter MBZ designed V6, lots of power with good gas mileage and no problem with stealing your board. (You can also save money and sleep in it hehe.) Checkout Old Mans, San O, Doheny, Bolsa Chica, Ventura County Line and Rincon if you get that far north.
