Re:6 Months in Mexico - 2009/10/28 03:23Be smart, be careful, plenty of good spots but I don't recommend doing that trip alone!

Re:6 Months in Mexico - 2009/10/30 07:40Well I am already going there regardless if I know how to surf or not. I figure I'll have a lot of time to spend in the water and learning how to surf. I am not totally going alone. I will be alone sometimes. I do understand its not safe to leave anything on the beach in 3rd world countries. Is there anymore tips, spots or advice I could get?

Re:6 Months in Mexico - 2009/11/04 10:21Travel during the day, bad stuff going on down there, (drug wars) avoid border towns and Ensenada. Lots of fun and safe waves in and around Los Cabos, and Todos Santos. Get a book on surfing the baja, have respect for the people. Since you’re a beginner don’t go out if its big, there are no doctors and no 911 to call . Learn Spanish fast, think Rosetta Stone. LOL

Re:6 Months in Mexico - 2009/11/06 04:06Be low-key.....You are a "Visitor"[people here in CA need to remember this as they are NOT a Local in Mexico !] Don't litter, don't draw attention to yourself, share some waves[don't paddle out like you own the place].Be mellow and RESPECTFUL and others will return the favor.[there are always bad apples remember that too] Be safe and have fun. Oh yeah....if it's HUGE in Puerto Escondido....don't go out !
