I experienced some neck pain from the last trip I surfed, kind of like a whip lash feeling. The waves were really choppy that day but I decided to go out anyways. I had fun, but my neck was feeling it bad. Any one else experience or have heard of anything like this? It was new to me... and hopefully it won't happen again... Of course I do remember that head banging does come with a price the first couple shows, lol!!

I know i used to have a problem with my wetsuit digging into my neck from turning my head to much but never whiplash unless i took some beatings...i'm guessing it might be the motion of looking up when your paddling over waves???

centerrock, there may be a problem with your neck rather than your surfing style or the surf itself. best to see a professional about your neck.
