Re:HELP ME FIX MY BOARD! PLEASE!!! - 2009/07/07 19:08 Hi Jimmy,

I'm assuming the fin was glassed in and not in a box because if it is in a box and the box is not damaged you can just get a replacement fin and secure it back in with a set screw. If it is glassed in i usually make my own fiberglass rope out of some fiberlass cloth by unravellaveling a piece. Then place the rope around the base of the fin all the way around. Before you do that make sure everything is clean and level inside the area where you set the fin.You may have to do some sanding.Buy some resin and hardner. Usually you can just get a kit which has some cloth resin and hardner already included.Mix the resin with the hardner according to the specs.on the bottle.Apply that to the rope around the base of the fin.Cut some cloth about 4inches wide and lay it down 2inches up on fin and 2inches on the board. Both sides of the fin.Apply the resin with the hardner mixed together on the cloth that was layed down on both sides of the base of the fin and on the cloth that is on the fin.Let set and harden over night. If you want you can apply a second layer of cloth in the same manner. After it is set sand down the rough edges to a smooth finish.Don't oversand.Job done.

Re:HELP ME FIX MY BOARD! PLEASE!!! - 2009/07/08 01:27 yep the fin the broke off was glassed on. Thank you for responding that helps a lot, but my only question left is what about the foam that is now missing in the hole? should I just fill it in with resin and fiberglass cloth? like it shows on the video i posted its a pretty deep hole, like 1/2 inch deep.

Wouldn't it throw off the weight balance?

Re:HELP ME FIX MY BOARD! PLEASE!!! - 2009/07/08 02:30 You can buy a special powder to mix up with the glass so it won't be so heavy.
