underwater cameras - 2009/06/12 17:31wondering what type of camera would be most suitable for a am water fotog. experienced photographer on land but not sure about water???
any ideas???

Re:underwater cameras - 2009/06/17 21:54hi Moto, for starting-out, it's hard to go past some of the waterproof compact digital cameras which are coming onto the market. most of the major manufactures are doing them and they don't need housings. they're very compact, water proof to 10-15m and very good results are possible with their auto modes. the only downside would be their flash capacity but that's not a big deal if you're jut getting started. another cheap option is to get a used cannon G9 and a matching cannon water housing. the G9 has been replaced by the G10 but its a very good small camera with plenty of manual modes and an excellent auto mode and there's quite a few going cheap on ebay. the G9 still requires an additional flash to be sure in all conditions.
