A mate and I from Australia are driving down the west coast of France starting in May. Was wondering if anyone could give us some tips, i.e. Surf Spots, travel, Night Clubs, Camping grounds.
Cheers, hope to hear from you guys soon

Re:Surfing France - Help! - 2009/04/24 02:13Whenever I'm over there I always make sure to hit up Côte sauvage - Phare de la Coubre. It's a very consistant break, the waves break both right and left, and it's a sand bar spot. On a good day you get some very long waves (300-500 meters), but on normal days the waves are usually around 50-150 meters. It's a good spot for any level of surfer, and it's really easy to find. It's not that crowded during the week, but on the weekend it's full of locals. And make sure you shower after you're done, there's been some pollution issues in that area, but don't worry it's not bad, but take the right precautions. Mahalo and good luck!

Re:Surfing France - Help! - 2009/04/25 04:38CHeck Hossegor ! and towards the north: Biscarosse and Lacanau. For those 3 towns you will have camps and night life ! Hossegor is the best but is more crowded.
