Re:Wax Preference - 2008/10/07 08:04Only have ever used Sex Wax. Haven't seen much else available here in Peru. I put on a harder coat underneath and the softer coat on top.
Only times I've ever had any problems is when I'm lazy and think that I don't need to at least give it a little touch up before going out. Every time it has looked 'good enough', I have ended up slipping a bit.
Anytime I put at least a minimum fresh coat on, it works great. This is in 58-72 F water. I think both are marked as 'Cool water'. I'm not really sure how to tell them apart other than 1 is softer and smells more.

Re:Wax Preference - 2009/04/05 00:15Terra wax is much better than sex wax. Need less, longer usage. It is also harder to remove. Moving to Mentawaï next Thursday, I have cleaned up my boards. The old one with sex wax was easy to clean; the one with Terra wax much harder... but that's what we ask to a wax! I'm gonna try the Sticky Bumps for tropical waves and see if it's as good as Terra wax.
