|Global Surf Industries releases Walden 3 Phase Epoxy range to market|
|Saturday, 26 May 2007|
Nearly a year in the planning and production stages has passed since GSI and Steve Walden signed the deal to offer the market place the Walden surfboard range in GSI’s 3 Phase Epoxy technology. The first of these boards shipped to surf shops across the USA this week.
“I saw the first production boards when I was at the GSI sponsored Noosa Festival of Surfing in Australia” said Steve. “The guys flew them down for me to look at. I was so pleased with what I saw, I knew right then that I had made the right decision to move my epoxy range to GSI and this technology”.
Walden Surfboards is the only brand outside of GSI’s South Point line ( Bonga Perkins/Carl Schaper, Dave Kalama/Jeff Timpone & Kym Thompson models) to have the 3 phase construction. The technology was launched in 2006 and has been well received on all levels of surfing since then. Bonga Perkins regularly rides his models on the WCT Longboard tour straight out of the box and a recent advertisement of Dave Kalama shows him riding his 9’2” model on a giant 4x overhead wave in Hawaii.
The 3 phase epoxy technology gives the rider a similar feel to a traditional polyester surfboard but with all the durability and performance benefits of epoxy construction. The 3 phase technology features a near puncture resistant skin that proved extra durability for the surfboard.

The Walden 3 Phase range will be rolling out to other market places around the world over the next 3 months.
