| I was test-riding an 8' HammerSurf at *** beach. It was a bright, sunny day with an unusually warm water temperature. I would have taken my wetsuit off, but I didn't want to scare everyone on the beach.
I found a rip tide south of *** and let it carry me out. (This rip was effective, but very wide and dangerous, I found it difficult to get out of). The waves were mushy to decent, not really good for the board I was riding. It didn't matter.. I was the only one out, way out and had an amazing view from the warm water. The sets were short and allowed me time to just sit and relax. Between rides (if you can call them that) I found total peace and relaxation. I pondered many things in the solitude and found a piece of myself that I'd lost through weeks of the hustle and bustle found in the working city. Sessions like these rarely TRULY come, though we are constantly searching for them. |
