Biggest Fear or Wipe out:	Tropical Storm Arlene 2005, If you have ever surfed during a hurrican swell then you know what I am talking about with this one. I was watching these bombs come in 20-25 foot off of the Ft. Walton Beach pier, I felt able and thought to myself there is no way I am letting this day go by without at least catching one. It took me a good 15 minutes to get out. I was lucky and unlucky because as soon as I got out the waves started coming in at faster intervuls. I was just barley scratching over the top of these huge faces, I was lucky I was on the eastern side of the epicenter so I had the wind blowing hard off shore at about "I would guess" 20-30 knots. When I finally decided to drop in on a wave the wind worked to my disadvantage and didn't allow me to drop in until it was too late. When I finally stood I knew it was over. The wind driven up the face of the wave so fast and with so much power that it blew my board right out from under me. I remeber freefalling through the air and realizing that I was in for a heavy experiance. I got held down numerous times by these unpredictible giants. I had never been this scared in my life. I felt my leash being strained beond it's limits and I remebered the only thought in my head was that if my leash did break I would die without doubt. Without a board I knew it was over. I later found out that I was only about 10 miles away from the eye of the storm.
