My Surf Profile

Surfing Since: 2007
Stance: Regular
Boards I surf: Longboard; Bodyboard; Mini-Mal / Hybrid
Surf Experience: Average Joe (3-5 yrs)
Surf Level: Stand Up Surfer
Surf Frequency: Once or twice a month
Local Spots: Cocoa Beach, Patrick AFB, Indiatlantic, Melbourne Beach
Favourites Spots: San Bartolo
My Biggest Wave: Overhead
Prefered Wave Size: Head-High
Favourite Type of Spot: Right Pointbreak; Left Pointbreak
Prefered Tricks: Drop In; Bottom Turn; Cutback; Wipe out
Bodyboard Tricks: Drop in; Cutback; Tube; Barrel Spin
My Best Ever Session: San Bartolo, last day of summer '08.
Biggest Fear or Wipe out: Cut up my foot and left leg some on the shells covering the rocks in Playa Norte.

Gashed knee on rocks while getting back on my board after a ride in San Bartolo's lefts.
Favourite Surfers: Parko, Sofia.

My Quiver

All about my boards !
Board 1
Shape: Mini-Mal / Hybrid
Fins: 1- Single
Shaper: Illusion
Size x Width x Thickness: 8'6" x 22 3/4 x 2 3/4
Condition: Battered and Bruised
Make and Technology: Used Fiberglass board I picked up on craigslist.
Tail: squash
Bottom: Flat
Year Bought: 2009
My Opinion About: In between board. It doesn't float me enough to catch smaller waves and it can't duck dive anything. So it is painful on small waves and useless on larger ones. I want to get this sold and find a new board ASAP!
Session Memories: First board used/owned after moving to CFL.

Board 2
Shape: Bodyboard
Shaper: Ion
Size x Width x Thickness: 42"
Condition: Battered and Bruised
Make and Technology: Pretty nice light weight board with good buoyancy.
Bottom: Double Concave
Year Bought: 2007
My Opinion About: Currently on hold until I find some way to glue/tape up the front end. It came separated when a friend was using it and I don't want it to rip open.

Much better than my starter board. Easier to catch waves and better performance. Also not so flimsy that it feels like it will break after a rough drop in.

Front end separated and I can't find anything good to glue it with. Locals tell me to just use duct tape, ugh.
Session Memories: First decently performing bodyboard I ever had. Had all of my best bodyboarding sessions with this one.

Board 3
Shape: Bodyboard
Shaper: CustomX
Size x Width x Thickness: 43.5" x 22.75" x 12.75" x 18.75"
Condition: Well Used
Bottom: Double Concave
Year Bought: 2007
My Opinion About: Nice and large. Really buoyant. Doesn't turn that great, but is good enough.
Session Memories: Took this out this summer a bit with Gage. Had a lot of fun with it in the La Isla and Playa Norte beach breaks.

Board 4
Shape: Longboard
Fins: 3- Thrusther
Size x Width x Thickness: 9'
Condition: Well Used
Make and Technology: Sunset Liquid Shredder Green 'Element' Longboard
Tail: squash
Bottom: Flat
Year Made: 2007
Year Bought: 2007
My Opinion About: Great practice board for beginners. Heavy, slow, and unresponsive. Catches waves extremely easily (almost too easily in big surf).
Session Memories: Learned how to surf with this board in the summer of '08. Had my best ever surf session with this one in San Bartolo.

Board 5
Shape: Mini-Mal / Hybrid
Fins: 3- Thrusther
Shaper: Wayo Whilar
Size x Width x Thickness: 7'6" x 22 1/8" x 2 13/16"
Condition: Still Sexy
Make and Technology: APS 3000 / CNC shaping.
Tail: round
Bottom: Flat
Type of Fins: FCS G-5
Year Made: 2008
My Opinion About: Much lighter, faster, and more responsive than my longboard. Paddles better. Slightly harder to catch waves with it but at least I can duck dive it with minimal problems. This board is at the minimal buoyancy that I can use. Anything less will never catch a wave.
Year Bought: 2008
Session Memories: Caught some good waves with it at Pampilla and San Bartolo, but is still hit and miss for me. Some days I can catch the waves with it, other days I can't.
