Hold down in big surf. Worst at Nias, triple overhead >20 seconds; Sanur triple overhead (10 wave set); Butterbox triple overhead. Almost caught inside at a remote Indo spot with a set 4-5 times overhead. Speedies with 10+ feet face-SCARY.

Just me and a 25 foot face set in a remote Indo heavy spot. Set waves about 100m apart. No contest. I got back on the boat. I never want to scramble over a wave that big, mean and ugly again, unless I lose 20 kilos. |
